Violeta Popescu

Violeta Popescu age 52 of Mt. Prospect passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. She was born on August 31, 1969 in Bucharest, Romania to the union of Virgiliu and Ecaterina (Comanescu) Popescu. The family immigrated to Chicago, Illinois on March 21, 1986 and in that same year she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior was baptized at the First Romanian Fundamentalist Baptist Church by Rev. Daniel Chiu. Violeta graduated from Carl Schurz High School, class of 1989 and attended college at UIC where she received two degrees in computer programming and mathematics. She also attended DeVry University Chicago.  Violeta worked for United Airlines as a computer programmer since 1997.

Beloved daughter of Ecaterina and the late Virgiliu Popescu. Loving sister of the late Teofil, Lidia (Jean) Boldor, Emanuel (Maggie) and Dan (Gabi). Fond aunt of 10, great aunt of 5.

Visitation Sunday, May 15, 2022 5:00 PM until time of evening service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Monday, May 16, 2022 11:00 A.M. at Logos Baptist Ministries, 7280 N. Caldwell Avenue, Niles. Interment will follow at Bohemian National Cemetery, 5255 N.
