Pedro Reyes Ibarra

Pedro Reyes Ibarra, age 64 of North Chicago passed away on November 1, 2021 at Lake Forest Hospital.  He was born August 19, 1957 in Huitzuco, Guerrero, Mexico to the union of Marcelino Reyes Toledo and Emilia Ibarra Ramirez.  On January 21, 1979 at Parroquia Señor Santiago he married Gloria Betancourt Salgado.  In April of 1980 he immigrated to Northbrook, then to Highland Park, Highwood and settling in North Chicago, Illinois. Pedro worked as a chef in many North Shore restaurants such as the former Timbers in Highland Park.  Pedro was a loving father and grandfather, always there for his children and grandchildren. He was an avid soccer fan cheering on the Americas team. He enjoyed country music and singing Karaoke.

Beloved husband of Gloria, Loving father of Pedro Jr. (Lilia Gonzalez De La Luz) Reyes Betancourt of Lincolnwood, Christian Reyes Betancourt of Waukegan and Jeanette (William) Herrera of North Chicago. Fond grandfather of Antonio Pedro Reyes, the late Marcus Rafael Reyes Gonzalez, Julianna Sari Reyes, Christian Juelz Reyes, Aaliyah Giselle Garcia and Jayden William Herrera. Dear brother of Victoria Reyes Ibarra of Indiana, Reyna Reyes (Angel) Quintana of North Chicago, Constintino (Ruth Nava) Reyes of Waukegan, David (late Virginia Cruz) Martinez of Igualla, Mexico and Maria (Samuel Nunez) Lopez of Mexico City. Cherished uncle to many.

Visitation Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M.  Friends will gather on Monday, November 8, 2021 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. at Saint James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, Illinois
