Mildred Maxine (Shay) Santi

Mildred Maxine Santi, 88, of Vernon Hills, and formally of Highland Park, IL, passed away November 8, 2022 peacefully at her home she was born May 27, 1934 in Farmers, KY she was the second child of  six born to the union of Max and Pruda Shay, Maxine was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother was a surgical nurse for over 50 years starting at Highland Park and Lake Forest Hospitals and then retiring from St. Francis hospital of Evanston in 2006,

She is survived by her three sons; Patrick Santi of Boulder, WY, Terrence "Tui" Santi of Boulder, WY, and Thomas (Kristie) Santi of Ontario, WI, grandchildren; Shayne, and Lauren Santi, Seth (Estella) Santi, Nicholas (Amy), and Sean (Elizabeth) Crovetti, great grandchildren: Misela, Sophia, Mateo, and Lucia Santi, Wyatt, and Daniel Crovetti, Natalie Karamitis, brother in law; David Dowe, sister in law; Shirley Shay, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, preceded in death by her parents; Max and Pruda Santi, her granddaughter; Eden Rose Gidwitz Santi, her sisters; Marlene (the late William) Bradley, Tammy Dowe, her brothers; Thomas Shay, Terry Shay, and Robert Shay.

Interment of cremains were be held private, the Symonds Funeral Home of Grayslake and Highwood were entrusted with the arrangements, for additional information please contact the funeral home at 847-543-1080.
