Linda Lee (Kemp) Torbik

Linda Lee Torbik, 77, of Chicago, and most recently of Lake Zurich, Illinois passed away March 29, 2021. She was born September 17, 1943 in Oak Park, Il, and was the only daughter of five children born to the union of Richard and Adeline Kemp, Jr. 

Linda is survived by her three children; Patricia (David) Winter of Vernon Hills, IL, William Torbik of Lake Villa, IL, and Brian Torbik of Round Lake, IL, her seven grandchildren; Alex Winter, Thomas Torbik, Brandon Torbik, Chris Winter, Juliana Torbik, Benjamin Torbik, and Bradley Torbik, her brothers Richard (Barbara) Kemp III, David (Arlene) Kemp and Don (Anne) Kemp and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Roger Torbik, her brother Robert and her parents Richard Jr. and Adeline Kemp.

Linda loved working in her garden, sewing and cooking, especially for holidays spent with the family. She lived for helping others as she cared for her mother, Adeline and brother, Robert and husband Roger thru their various illnesses. She also loved spending as much time as possible with her grandkids, attending all their various sporting events, babysitting when they were younger and having all 7 of them sleepover at the same time. When grandma was around, the kids knew they were going to have a good time.

She was also very active in her church, Mt. Olive, in Chicago. She was the church secretary, she belonged to the handbell choir along with her three children and she loved teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held 5:00 Pm to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home 111 W. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030, Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM visitation until 11:00 AM service at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church 24500 N.
