Leda Maria Nardini nee: Dell'Omodarme age 89 of Highwood passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in Highwood Illinois. She was born August 24, 1931 in Livorno, Tuscany, Italy the 11th child born to the union of Giovanni and Eleonora (Tognietti) Dell'Omodarme. On January 20, 1962 in the Chiesa della Santssima Trinita (Livorno) she married Alvaro Nardini in Livorno, Tuscany, Italy and shortly after the couple immigrated to Highwood, Illinois leaving Italy on the Leonardo DiVinci by boat arriving in New York seeing the Statue of Liberty welcoming them to America. Like many immigrants when arriving in a new land, they struggled through their little hardships. As a family, one of the proudest moments was when they purchased their home in beautiful little Italian Highwood. Leda had a passion for cooking and took great pride in the presentation of her meals. She was a member of St. James Church, Highwood, the church choir and the Sacred Heart Guild of St. James Church.
Beloved wife of the late Alvaro Nardini on August 4, 2004. Loving mother of Andy (Susan) Nardini of Palatine and Grazia (Rob) Goeppinger of Palatine. Fond grandmother of Laura Nardini and Melissa (Ruben) Merlos. Dear sister of the late Mario (Vincenza) Dell'Omodarme, Bruno (Franca) Dell'Omodarme, Enzo (Vera) Dell'Omodarme, Anna (Luigi) Paoli, Tina (Amelio) Dentelli, Leda (4) of scarlet fever whom Leda was named after and 3 stillborn siblings. Fond Zia to many especially late Paolo (Chris) Dell'Omodarme, late Luca (Julie) Dell'Omodarme and Rita (John) Picchietti.
Visitation Monday, May 10, 2021 from 8:30 A.M. until time of prayers 9:30 A.M. at The Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood to Saint James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Mass 10:00 A.M. Rev. Thomas F. Baldonieri, Rev. Timothy O'Malley and Rev. JoAndre Beltran, celebrants. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, Illinois. Contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
