James Alphonse Anderson, age 79 of Vernon Hills passed away Sunday March,12 2023. He was born on April 30, 1943 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the union of James Kermit Anderson and Lucille Sutton. Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a medic. He quickly rose up in ranks to e-4 position/ corporal and was also placed on active duty in Japan. He worked as a microbiologist scientist in the Army and used those skilled sets at Rolling Hills hospital in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania and was a Biopharmaceutical Sales Management for 40 successful years. 

Jim met Shelley Faye Anderson in grade school while they were skating at a school. The grade school sweethearts then married June 12, 1965 in Shreveport, Louisiana in their hometown. This June would have been 58 years of marriage. They moved to Houston, Texas while Jim studied mortuary science. They then lived in Philadelphia where both children, Gigi and Alec, were born. Their family lived in San Diego, California and then moved to Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Loving husband of Shelley Anderson. Beloved father of daughter, Gigi Anderson Truman (husband James Truman) and son, Alec Anderson (partner Laurie Wien). Grandfather of Mathias Alec Anderson. Brother of Kermit Diggs (husband Sydney Diggs).

Cousins, nephews, family, and friends who loved and knew him dearly called him June and was nicknamed "Dah" by his grandson Mathias.
