James Echols Browning III

James Echols Browning III, "Jimmy" age 78 of Chicago passed away peacefully Sunday, June 13, 2021 in Niles, Illinois. He was born March 5, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of James Echols Browning, Jr. and Esther E. (Rounds) Browning. Jimmy went to Burke Elementary and Tilden High school. He was raised in the Greater Bethesda Baptist Church in Chicago. He served in the Illinois National Guard and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail clerk.  A true Chicagoan he was a gigantic Cubs fan.  Jimmy loved to go for long walks and would spend his free time watching old movies and tv series such as Star Trek. Or even dinners out at his favorite Red Lobster. Jimmy's pleasant, positive with great conversation and witty personality always gave you a good feeling when he would be with you, spending time with him was just plain old fun. After retirement Jimmy started taking college courses and completed an Associates degree at Kennedy King Collage  He felt that knowledge was important to have and he now had time to complete his education.

Jimmy leaves behind  two  nieces Jasmine Browning and Augustine Browning, a great niece Maryiah Williams and 2 great nephews Tyler and Jacob Browning and a dear friend Yvonne Reese and her children Bryant and Anthony Reese and Shavonne Anderson and host of family and friends

He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers Robert, Donald and Jonathan Browning

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM until time of memorial service 2:00 PM at the Angelus Funeral Chapel, 8243 S. Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois
