Jack Moore

Jack Moore, 72, a US Army Vietnam Veteran of Lake Villa, IL, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was born on March 29, 1951 in Martin, KY and was one of eight children born to the union of Pearl and Hattie Moore. Jack was the maintenance engineer for St. Gilbert Catholic Church and Antioch United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, raising birds, bike riding, and having ice cream with his grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his wife of 48 years, Louise Moore, nee Csapo, of Lake Villa, IL; son Michael (Elizabeth) Moore of Antioch, IL; daughter Melissa Moore of Antioch, IL; 6 grandchildren: Ezekiel, Ryanne, Marilyn, Adelyn, Hunter, and Avery; grand-dog Scotch; brothers and sisters, JoAnne (the late Bill) Vermillon of Sikeston, MO, Pam (Jim) Cozart of Lindenhurst, IL, Sandy (the late Bill Butler) Moore of Wheeling, IL, Bobby (Debbie) Moore of Sparta, TN, Jeff (Donna) Moore of Latonia, KY, Pete (Angie) Moore of Sikeston, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Hattie (Cox) Moore, and his brother Darrell Moore.

Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home, 111 W. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030, and 9:00 AM on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 until the start of chapel services at 10:00 AM Fr. John Chrzan, officiating. Interment with full Military Honors to be held at 1:00 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.
