Ireta “Jeannie” Hagenson, Grayslake, IL, was brought home to God for eternal peace on October 28, 2023 at the age 86. Survived by her husband Harold “Smokey” Hagenson, sister-in-law Sierra Battles, brother-in-law Al Alsedek (Connie), daughters Debbie (Terry) Tubb, Karen (Dave) Jenson, stepchildren Craig (Donna) Hagenson and Linda (Scott) Israelson, 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her son Steven Zenner, sister Donna Glick, brother LaVerne “Butch” Battles and sister-in-law Phyllis Alsedek (nee Hagenson).
Jeannie was born and raised in Rock Falls, IL. She was a switchboard operator for Illinois Bell and then a receptionist at Do-ALL in Des Plaines, IL. Jeannie loved music, roller skating, knitting and crocheting, but she was the happiest when she was laughing with her friends and family. Jeannie leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth.
Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. until time of funeral services at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Symonds-Lakes Funeral Home, 111 W. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030, Rev. David Castleberry, officiating.
Interment of cremains will be held private at Fort Sheridan National Cemetery, Highwood, IL
In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made in Jeannie’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
