Godofredo Serrano

Godofredo Serrano, age 78 of Skokie, Illinois passed away peacefully Friday, February 24, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Born November 26, 1944 in Guimba, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to the union of Nicanor Serrano, Sr.and Regina Daguio. He received a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. From his first marriage to Mila Fred had 3 children to that union and to his second marriage to Amalia he had 2 children. He immigrated to the United States Wyoming in the 1970s and then to Chicago where he made his home and worked as a chemical engineer in the tool and die industry.  Fred was an avid vegetable gardener and was a enthusiastic carioque aficionado.

Beloved husband of Amalia; loving father of Ryan "Nino" Serrano of Chicago, Bradley Serrano of Chicago, Nicole Serrano (David Feliciano) of Berwyn, Lia (Jose) Vasquez of Skokie and Lanie (Kevin) Rail of DesPlaines. Fond grandfather of Kayla, Penny, Gianni, Eli, Anya, Akira and Jamison. Dear brother of NenitaLuzero,Antonio Serrano, Lorna Castillo, Linda Padilla, Nicanor Serrano, Jr., Imelda Wong, Teresita Corpus, Milagros Tan, Isidoro Serrano and Renato Serrano.

Visitation Monday, February 27, 2023 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral Service Tuesday, February 28, 2023  10:30 AM at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Road, Niles, IL . Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, Illinois.
