Eugene "Bozo" Hainchek Obituary

Eugene "Bozo" Hainchek age 94 of Highwood passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the Springs of Vernon Hills. Born September 17, 1926 in the LaSalle/Peru area of Illinois to the union of Alex and Kate (Biavati) Hainchek. He served in the U.S. Army Air Core in WW II, was a member of the Highwood American Legion and the Highwood VFW and had the privilege to participate in the Honor Flight to Washington, DC.  Back in the day he was a very active young man working as a milkman, also at the telephone company and a volunteer firefighter for Highwood. He also was a founder of the Highwood Bocce Courts. He enjoyed many careers but gradually became an owner of Acme Liquor Store. Later on he moved onto working for Skokie Valley Laundry. Once he retired he worked as a Highland Park crossing guard for 10 years. His life was full of excitement and accomplishments, and later on in life he supervised for the Karger Recreation Center, Highland Park.  During his early years he was an avid athlete, playing semi pro softball/basketball, All County Bowling and a tournament golfer.  Bozo was a golf fanatic; one of his fondest memories was when he attended the Masters Golf Tournament. He also worked at Sunset golf course as a ranger.

Beloved husband of Carmen nee: Pasquesi. Loving father of Kathy Hainchek of Racine, Wisconsin, Phillip Hainchek of Ft. Myers, Florida and Karen Hainchek of Netherland, Colorado. Dear brother of the late Alex Hainchek, Jr. and Joseph (Heidi) Borgini of Gurnee and dear friends of Quintin Sepulveda and Norma Zumaeta.

Thank You to the staff at The Springs of Vernon Hills for their loving, compassionate care.

Private memorial services will take place at a later date.
