Esteban Medina

Esteban Medina, age 90 of Highwood, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 23, 1931 in Apaseo el Alto, GTO, Mexico the third child of ten born to the union of Refugio and Luz (Vasquez) Medina. Raised in Apaseo el Alto he married Caritina Trejo in 1956 and he moved his young family to Highwood, Illinois in 1963.  A landscaper by trade, in his later years he opened his own landscaping company Medina and Sons Landscape Company, Inc. Esteban was a simple man who loved and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were his whole world.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening at home and listening to music. 

Beloved husband of Caritina. Loving father of Sylvia (George) Cardenas of Highland Park, Gia Medina of Highwood, Efrain Medina of Highwood, Juana (Erasmo) Guajardo of Highwood and Steve Medina of Highland Park. Fond grandfather of Angie (Jeff) Wyke of Highland Park, Christy (Jeff) Jones of Highland Park, George Alex (Jenny) Cardenas of Highland Park, Carlos (Sanni) Figueroa of Highwood, Nancy Guajardo of Highwood, Benny Figueroa of Highwood, Alex (Lindsey) Guajardo of Highland Park, Stephanie Medina of Chicago, Stevie Medina of Highland Park and the late Joey Guajardo. Great grandfather of Sydney, Samantha, Jackson, Olivia, Miranda, Isaiah, Zoe, Nehemiah and Talitha.

Visitation Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. and Monday, June 20, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of prayers 9:30 A.M. at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood to the Church of Saint Mary, 175 East Illinois Road (at Green Bay Road) Lake Forest, Illinois Mass 10:00 A.M. Rev. Michael Nacius, celebrant. Private inurnment will be at Saint Mary Cemetery, Lake Forest.  In lieu of flowers memorials to the Cancer Wellness Center, 215 Revere Drive., Northbrook, IL 60062 would be appreciated.
