Betty Amidei Obituary

Betty Rose Amidei nee Powers "Toots" age 80 of Highland Park/Highwood passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Transitional Care of Lake County, Mundelein. She was born January 9, 1941 in Highland Park to the union of Guion and Irene (Willis) Powers, raised in Highland Park, she was a graduate of Highland Park High School, class of 1959. On September 16, 1961 at Saint James Church, Highwood she married Lawrence Amidei and started a family.  She was a former member of the Highwood Bocce Ball Club where she was a 1984 champion and Women of the Moose, Highland Park Chapter.  Betty retired from Great Lakes Naval Base in the Civil Service as a medical records transcriber.  She was an avid lover of golf and in her quiet time she enjoyed scrabble, backgammon and badminton.  The most important part of her life was her family.  Her devotion and love for her siblings, children and grandchildren gave her life meaning and joy.

Beloved mother of Lawrence (Mary) Amidei of Vernon Hills, Diana (Tom) Wettermann of Lake Forest, Ray (Dara) Amidei of Vernon Hills, the late Angela (Bill) Martinez Kugler of Kenosha, WI and Joseph Amidei of Highwood.  Fond grandmother of Ashley (Ryan) Quinn of Grayslake, Alyssa Amidei (Tommy Long) of Lindenhurst, Abrianna Amidei of Chicago, Alex Wettermann of Miami, FL, Katherine Wettermann of Chicago, Henry Wettermann of Milwaukee, WI, Christophe Wettermann of Lake Forest, Jadyn Amidei of Chicago, Josie Amidei of Vernon Hills, Derek (Amy) Martinez of Kenosha, WI, Jake Martinez Kugler of Kenosha, WI, Mariah Martinez Kugler of Kenosha, WI, Samantha (Jack) Duffy of Wauconda, Julia Amidei of Libertyville and Matteo Amidei of Elmwood Park.  Great grandmother of Logan and Emmerson Quinn, Persephone Martinez, Mikah and Kaleb Redlin. Dear sister of the late Lucille (late Phil) Carlson, Emma "Jean" Denzel (Frank Salbago) of Tuscon, AZ, Todd (Diane) Powers of Barrington, William (Barbara) Powers of Libertyville, Larry (Patty) Powers of Highwood, Sharon (late Bob) Edenhofer of North Chicago, Robert (Janet) Powers of Round Lake and Julie (Robert) Denzel of Waukegan.

Visitation Monday, June 7, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Service 7:00 P.M. at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, Interment will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 2:00 P.M. at Willow Lawn Memorial Park, 24090 N. US Hwy 45, Vernon Hills, IL
