April Santana-Burke

April Marie Santana Burke, age 57 of Highwood passed away on, Tuesday November 8, 2022 at Vista East Medical Center, Waukegan, Illinois. She was born June 17, 1965 in Waukegan, Illinois to the union of Geraldo Cesar Santana and Patricia Ann Calhoun. Raised in Highwood, Illinois she was a graduate of Highland Park High School, class of 1983. She was employed as a pharmacy tech at Walgreen's in Highland Park for over 25 years. In her younger years she worked at the Highland Park K Mart. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose, Highland Park Lodge and was the greatest of fans of the Chicago Cubs.

She is survived by her son Aaron, her pride and joy who is attending Illinois State University in Normal, IL, her husband Thomas Burke of Chicago, her beloved father and "2nd mommy" Geraldo and Yolanda Santana of Cocoa, FL, her cherished sister Michelle (Jason) Santana VanAusdall of Shiloh, IL, a dear brother Shane Santana in Cocoa, FL, three precious nieces Taylor VanAusdall of Chicago, IL., Tiffany Washington and Brianna Abrahamson both of Cocoa, FL. and a number of amazing extended family and friends all over the US.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Patricia Ann Calhoun Johnson on April 25, 2003.

Visitation Sunday, November 13, 2022  from 3:00 P.M. until time of funeral service at 7:00 P.M. at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood. Cremation will be private.

To honor April on Sunday evening please feel free to wear any Chicago Cubs clothing or baseball caps to the service.  April would have wanted it that way!
